چکیده

The major aim of the research is to investigate ability biogas as an alternative fuel for gasoline-powered Spark Ignition (SI) engine. In this study, biogas/gasoline mixtures containing different ratios biogas, gasoline, and were tested in SI engine with increased compression ratio at loads constant speed. According comparison utilization generally decreased Brake Thermal Efficiency (BTE), while Specific Fuel Consumption (BSFC) rose. lowest BTE highest BSFC obtained 100% biogas. Compared a decrease 16.04% increase 75.52% observed, respectively. On other hand, use has improved all emissions. best emission values Carbon monoxide (CO), HydroCarbon (HC), Nitrogen Oxide (NO x ) emissions by 56.42%, 63%, 48.96%, Finally, according results combustion analysis, peak pressures reduced position pressure shifted 2° 3° Crank Angle (CA). was resulting reduction approximately 24.69%.

Experimental Study of Performance of Spark Ignition Engine with Gasoline and Natural Gas

The tests were carried out with the spark timing adjusted to the maximum brake torquetiming in various equivalence ratios and engine speeds for gasoline and natural gas operations. In thiswork, the lower heating value of gasoline is about 13.6% higher than that of natural gas. Based on theexperimental results, the natural gas operation causes an increase of about 6.2% brake special fuelconsumpt...

The Effects of Ethanol–gasoline Blend on Performance and Exhaust Emission Characteristics of Spark Ignition Engines

The effects of unleaded gasoline and unleaded gasoline–ethanol blends on engine performance and pollutant emissions were investigated experimentally in a single cylinder, four-stroke spark-ignition engine with variable engine speeds (2600–3500 rpm). Four different blends on a volume basis were applied. These are E0 (0% ethanol + 100% unleaded gasoline), E3 (3% ethanol + 97% unleaded gasoline), ...
